Write for us

Clever Sports Insider welcomes pitches that make a particular part of sport easier to understand, without assuming every reader already knows the vocabulary or context.

What we welcome

Propose a focused explanation of a rule, a comparison of formats, an account of a tactical idea, or a useful way to follow a match. We value pieces that clarify how something works, show where an explanation has limits, and leave readers with a concrete detail to notice.

A good pitch

Send a short outline of the central question, the game or games involved, the main points you would explain and why the subject suits our readers. Mention any sources or specialist terminology the piece would need. Keep claims proportionate, distinguish fact from interpretation, and avoid pitches that depend on unverified allegations or predictions.

How to send it

Use the Contact page and select the editorial option. Include your proposed title or subject in the message. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication, and we may ask for a narrower angle before considering a full draft.
